Team Chasing: Not Just for Riders – A Brilliant Day Out for Spectators Too!

Think team chasing is only for the adrenaline-junkie riders charging across the countryside? Think again. Spectators are not only welcome—they’re encouraged!

And if you’ve never been before, you’re seriously missing out!

Each event is a real countryside spectacle. Picture this: open fields, hedge-hopping horses, the roar of hooves, a great view of the action, and a coffee (or a pint) in hand. It’s a proper day out—with trade stands, food trucks, and bars all adding to the atmosphere. There's something for everyone, whether you’re there for the horses, the shopping, or the snacks.

Bring the kids, bring the dogs (on leads!), and enjoy the freedom of the great outdoors while watching some of the boldest riders in the country tackle serious cross-country fences at speed. You don’t need to be horsey to enjoy it—it’s fast, exciting, and no two rounds are ever the same.

Want to see the best of the best in action?

Don’t miss the Open class, usually held around lunchtime at most events. This is the main event, the one where the hedges get bigger, and the pace gets turned all the way up. Expect full-throttle runs, daring lines, flying leaps—and the occasional shout of “Go on!”

Whether you're perched by a big hedge with a camera or soaking it all in from the bar, there’s nothing quite like watching a team gallop past at full speed, four abreast, over some of the most impressive obstacles in the sport.

Don’t forget to check out your local team chase’s page on social media. Most events have their own Facebook or Instagram accounts where they share the most up-to-date information—everything from schedules and entries to course previews, parking updates, headcam footage, and even sneak peeks at the trade stands and food options. It’s the best way to stay in the loop in the run-up to the event and to plan your day.

And the best part?

Most events are super affordable to attend. So if you're after a fun, action-packed day in the countryside, find your local event, pack your wellies, and come and see what all the fuss is about!
